Canton Inn in Evansville

Like it better as a buffet. They can't help this through. They try hard and are good people.

The food is AMAZING and always served hot and fresh. The employees are so nice and helpful(and efficient) The restaurant is very nice and always kept clean! If you find yourself in North Park in Evansville, definitely stop by Canton Inn and try their food! Thank you guys for being a great restaurant throughout the years! :)

So, I just walked in to this restaurant and had some food and when I took a bite of it, it literally tasted like dirt! The food was cold and awful! It smelled like cigar even the restaurant smelled like that man! I've never gave a bad review till today! And, even though I did not eat my food I still got charged ungodly money man!

The problem that I have is with the ownership, not the food/service. I had the gastric bypass 6 years ago & am limited on what/how much i can eat. I ate here for the first time a few months back & presented my medical card asking for a discounted rate since I can not eat that much. I was told then that they do not accept the medical card any more because people were coming in there & saying they had the surgery then was eating a lot of food. After talking to the owner further he agreed to take the card; by him doing so he baby sat me & watched everything I ate. Tonight we went back, which I presented my medical card as normal. Tonight they wouldn't take the card, period. I was charged full price for a half a plate of food. Is it really because people have taken advantage of it or because he don't want to give a discounted rate. The food is delicious, but I'm not sure its worth going & feeling the way they make me feel.

This place is a great Chinese style restaurant. It is not by any means the largest one, but all the food is spot on. They have been around for a long time and easy to understand why.

Good prices, the food is the best in Evansville and I have to say that the staff is always friendly.

Food is top notch, hostess is always very friendly/personable. Saturday nights do get fairly busy between the buffet line and people getting takeout. A decent variety of options on said buffet. The egg rolls are amazing.

Food was delicious. Not as hot as I like it, but good. It's always nice to see the manager talking to customers, and treating the employees like family. And helping where needed.

Moving from Newburgh to Northside Evansville it was close. The food wasn't good. I took a friend and her daughter. Yim is a nice man, I hope he gets it together. China Village if you're in Newburgh.

Great food, wonderful atmosphere, excellent service. my family has been going to Canton Inn since I was a child. It was my grandfather's favorite restaurant. He knew the workers by name, the owners, etc... The owners were so friendly and personable they always greeted our table personally each time we were there. When my grandfather passed away two years ago they even sent a plant to the funeral home. Such wonderful staff that work there the servers are all great! The food is wonderful! Best hot and sour soup in the area! Hands down best egg rolls! I will always recommend Canton to anyone!

We love Canton Inn. It's our "go-to" place. The food is always fresh, no matter what time you arrive. It is consistently delicious. The price is very reasonable. And the service is unbeatable. Everyone is friendly and quick to get anything you need or want. With the incredible selection, there is something for everyone. If you haven't tried Canton Inn, do yourself a favor and move this restaurant to the top of your list!

The food was hot and tasty. The place was clean. The help was friendly. For a Good Friday day there were few meat free entrees. I was hoping for some salmon. I did mention to the owner. He appreciated my mentioning it.

Canton Inn has a tasty buffet that's priced fair and made fresh. Unlike many other Chinese restaurants, Canton Inn didn't serve us any tough, freezer-burned meat. Instead, everything was freshly made. I can't recommend the lemon chicken, unless you want something tasteless. However, their chicken and onions, general gao's chicken, beef with cabbage, and fried chicken wings were excellent. Their desert game is strong, including some decent pastries and soft serve ice cream.We did have a small issue of sour tofu. When we brought it to the owner's attention, he was very apologetic, took it off our ticket, gave us some free almond cookies, and contacted his distributor to fix the issue. It's easy to like a place when everything is good. The great places that stand the test of time (like Canton Inn) are the ones that you like even when something goes wrong. We'll be back for sure.

Although the buffet itself is small and the options are somewhat limited the food is amazing and its always hot and fresh, plus everything tastes great!

Best food in town!

I am mixed on this review. This place was sold to me as the best place in Evansville for Chinese food, so I went in with high expectations. Service is really good and the owner is great about checking in with tables and circulating. But I was disappointed with the food. Granted, it was buffet good and the food is more Cantonese than traditional Chinese, but I honestly fail to see how anyone thinks it is the best Chinese food in the city. Granted, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and the person who told me about it grew up eating here so that is what they have always known. But I have eaten at many Asian places around this city and other cities in which I have lived and I am not a huge fan. I will continue to go with friends who enjoy it and because the service really is wonderful, which leads to me giving it four stars.

Canton has delicious and authentic Cantonese food!! It's a great place to grab lunch or dinner with a date, friends or the entire family!! Whether you're limited on time, or would like to sit and talk, this is the perfect place, as they have an all you can eat buffet and a large dining room(s)!! The owners are amazingly kind and care about their customers, you can literally find them there every single day!! The staff is always polite, smiling, and happy to help!! An overall great atmospher, even when crowded- and dependable quality food!!

Owner is genuine and caring. Staff was not as helpful but still pleasant and working entire time of visit. Food was good, stop by and try, restaurant was clean, food was fresh and hot.

We have eaten here for many years. The food is always good. There is a great selection on the buffet and I also have enjoyed menu items. The owner is very nice and listens to his customers. As a result, the food is flavorful and appealing. The restaurant is clean and well staffed. It is usually pretty busy because it really is a local favorite. We have even used them for catering several times and we are never disappointed.

Food is always cold, I thought it was a fluke a couple times but third times a charm. Will not be going back!

I've been eating here since I was 14 years old and the recipes have never changed and they have always been excellent the owners are awesome and amazing and we love this place so much!!
